Feng Shui Institute
International Supports “Brain Awareness Week”
with Launch of New Research Initiative
ROCKAWAY, NJ - (March 13,
2006)
Feng Shui Institute International (FSII) is launching a
research initiative that adds expertise from the fields of architecture and neuroscience to feng
shui to investigate how pre-verbal, sub-consciously processed visual cues cause individuals to react
positively or negatively to various architectural and interior
design features.
FSII has been
gathering case study information for the past five years about how
individuals respond to their environments through a
neuroscience-based “archityping” process, adapted by Feng Shui
Institute of America and based on the ArchiMap®. The ArchiMap®
process was originally developed for architectural use, and now
makes inter-professional collaborations between feng shui
practioners, architects and scientists finally possible.
FSII has two goals
in establishing this new research initiative: The first is to
raise public awareness of the links between personal well-being
and design in the visual environment that have been highlighted by
recent brain research. The second is to foster a cooperative
cross-professional sharing of information about the needs of the
built environment that can be expanded to include expertise from
the fields of psychology, real estate, design, architecture and
construction.
FSII is offering
complimentary archityping demonstrations to interested
professionals in the following locations: Chicago,
Columbus, Detroit, and all of Florida.
To learn more about the research or schedule an
appointment, contact: Barbara
Taylor, FSII Executive Director (info@fengshui-ii.org
or 973-586-3744).
As a related
opportunity, Beverly Payeff-Masey, creator of the ArchiMap®,
will conduct a 4-hour course on the tool on April 30th at the
Boston Architectural Center (http://www.the-bac.edu).
CE credits will be available for architects.
